Our service hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Please call Monday – Friday between 9:00am and 2:00pm to make a reservation, and if you get our answering machine, please leave a message. 24 hour notice is preferred for all reservations, and a voluntary contribution is appreciated. APRIL 2014 EVENTS DALLAS BRASS at Darien High School Thursday, April 24th, 7:30pm at Darien High School, 80 High School Lane Darien senior citizens are invited to attend a performance of internationally acclaimed Dallas Brass free of charge and enjoy free transportation to and from the High School. The Dallas Brass has become one of America’s foremost musical ensembles. The Dallas Brass concert, American Musical Journey, incorporates a full complement of brass and percussion for a musical travelogue through American history. From the time of George Washington to the present day – music will be selected from the masters – Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin, Berlin, John Williams, Sousa; and styles from Dixieland, swing, folk, patriotic, and pop. Seniors can be conveniently picked up at their homes, and returned home safely after the show. At Home In Darien will offer transportation at approximately 6:45pm for those Darien seniors who would like a ride. CONTINUING BEGINNING BRIDGE CLASSES Mondays 1-3pm from March 31st, or Tuesdays 9-11am from April 1st, at the Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road If you’ve just completed our Beginning Bridge class, or already have some basic knowledge of the game, join us for the next step. Monday classes will be held March 31, April 7, 28, May 5, 12 and 19, and are led by Meredith Dunne. Joan Bergen leads our Tuesday sessions, held April 1, 8, 22, 29, May 6 and 13. Kennedy, this story represents all sailors who fought around the Solomon Islands in speedy wooden craft known as “Patrol Torpedo Boats”. Perhaps the best-known story of the PT’s, JFK’s PT 109 was torn in half after being deliberately rammed by the Japanese Destroyer Amigiri in the early morning darkness of August 2, 1943. Norwalk Community College’s Academic Festival “Super Men and Wonder Women” Wednesday and Thursday, April 2nd and 3rd, from 10:00am at Norwalk Community College, East Campus, 188 Richards Ave, Norwalk Norwalk Community College invites the public to attend the 2-day Academic Festival “Super Men and Wonder Women”.
